Review of detection, assessment and mitigation of security risk in smart grid

The integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) into the existing power grid has created new problems to the grid. The grid network has become more vulnerable to security threats and risk which is a corollary to the modern data network. Smart Grid has strict latency requirement for data communication and the violation of this latency is very costly. This paper assesses the threats and vulnerabilities associated with the Smart Grid network and reviews the methods to mitigate these security risks.

Abstract: Mixed-valence polycyanides (Prussian Blue analogues) possess a rich palette of properties spanning from room-temperature ferromagnetism to zero thermal expansion, which can be tuned by chemical modifications or the application of external stimuli (temperature, pressure, light irradiation). A Pattern Recognition Approach for Peak Prediction of Electrical Consumption

Predicting and mitigating demand peaks in electrical networks has become a prevalent research topic. Demand peaks pose a particular challenge to energy companies because these are difficult to foresee and require the net to support abnormally high consumption levels. In smart energy grids, time-differentiated pricing policies that increase the energy cost for the consumers during peak periods, and load balancing are examples of simple techniques for peak regulation. In this paper, we tackle the task of predicting power peaks prior to their actual occurrence in the context of a pilot Norwegian smart grid network.
